Frog Bog Dedication
We sure got a soaking rain today during our Frog Bog dedication. It was needed so I'm not complaining. It was nice to see some of the original people who developed the idea and really got the ball rolling on the plan. Without them, we would be missing out on many real life learning experiences. I love looking at the plants as they grow and change. As I walk up to the pier, I am always in awe of the bullfrog giving one last loud croak before it falls silent because it hears me coming. I am looking forward to watching the Frog Bog through the seasonal changes and the growth that is life. What is your favorite thing about the Frog Bog?

My favorite thing about the Frog Bog is not just how wonderful it is to go out into a natural setting and explore nature, but the joy of sharing it with my students who are always in awe of a new discovery. It doesn't matter how often we visit, they always find something fantastic and usually unexpected. I love the experience of sharing those discoveries with them.
ReplyDeleteAs a teacher at Creeds I am thankful for the dual purpose of the frog bog. I am thankful to have such a beautiful piece of nature in our back yard and I am thankful it houses all the water our parking lot used to contain.

We took a class vote and we agree the BEST thing about the frog bog are the trails and paths. They are wonderful!!!
The Frog Bog is nature at its best. In less than a year the staff and students at Creeds Elementary turn a deserted piece of land into an environmentally stable habitat. There are frogs, turtles, and dragonflies. It's pretty amazing back there. My favorite part about the Frog Bog is the student's reaction when you tell them they’re going out there to observe it. They always get excited, weather it means working or just walking around. I also had my first blackberry out there and it was pretty tasty. I was out there yesterday and it looked good. Keep the good work up Creeds Elementary.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! I am so proud of all the work that has been done and continues to be done with the Frog Bog project. It is so great to see a group get together for the environment. What an awesome educational collaboration going on with the teachers and the students and who knows what can come of all this in the future.
ReplyDeleteOur class really enjoyed traveling through the frog bog this year. We were able to make all kinds of curricular connections! We noticed and discussed habitats, food chains, life cycles, and erosion. Thanks for providing such a great outdoor classroom!
